Big News This Fall

🕒 2 min read

Thank you so much to everyone who took the time to give us your thoughts and feedback, it has been pivotal in deciding how we move forward starting next week. We’re excited to introduce some big changes in response to your feedback.

  • We realize that we have grown so much in the last few months that things have seemingly become ‘unsustainable’. We want everyone to feel like there is a place at pickleball to learn, grow, and feel a sense of community. In an exciting new venture with the City of Toronto, we’re excited to announce 2 sessions a week – 1 free for beginner coaching and 2.0 players, and another for 2.5+ players.

We are doing this to make sure beginners are getting the dedicated learning and development they want. We recognize it can be intimidating playing in 2.5 rated games when you’re just trying to nail the basics (including rules). We also want our existing community of 2.5+ players to get as much playing time as possible as we move indoors.

There was a lot of feedback around the assessment of levels and the need for a clear standard across the board, so we’re doing just that. We will be starting to assess all of our current 2.5 players to start as this category has previously been open to self-assessment. After that, we will assess all players currently playing 3.0 and 3.5.

The number one thing folks want to get out of our sessions is to uplevel their game. This assessment process will provide a systematic, tangible process for improving and moving up a level in a more objective way. It will also make sure that games are staying competitive and fun!

Advanced sign up for the remaining outdoor season will only hold spaces until 6pm, after which those spaces will go to people on the waitlist. We will not have advanced signups for the indoor season.
